Take Up Your Cross

Last week I wrote about two men, John Leonard Dober and David Nitschman, who literally sold themselves into the service of our King. These men gave up everything, never really expecting to see their friends or family again, to share the truth of Christ among a foreign people in a foreign land. The Lord has used the example of these men, and Matt Pappa’s song “The Reward of His Suffering” to spur us on to what he is calling us to in life. You can read this blog post here. Our hearts truly long to spend time as a family. It’s a real treasure. We LOVE going on adventures together. Playing outdoors. Seeing new places. Visiting new parks. Trying new restaurants. Come, Holy Spirit, Come

The work of the Holy Spirit is powerful, yet regularly overlooked. The world was created by God saying ‘let there by light’ and breathing life into man. Often we forget that we are dependent upon this Holy, Creative God for everything. Recently I’ve been mulling over various thoughts about the Holy Spirit as the topic has come up in various forms: studying the Gospel of John in Bible Study Fellowship, reading Forgotten God by Francis Chan, and listening to the Secret Church: Exploring the Holy Spirit by David Platt. I’m eager to process these thoughts “outloud” here for the benefit of my heart and hopefully yours as well!
